Described in the press as “a tenor with a sparkling tone and radiant top notes,” Norwegian tenor Petter Moen has firmly established himself as a singer equally at home in both opera and on the concert stage. He made his professional operatic debut at Wermland Opera in Karlstad, Sweden, in the role of Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia. Since then, he has appeared with many theatres and festivals including the Norwegian National Opera, Royal Danish Opera, Royal Opera Stockholm, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Händel-Festspiele Halle, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Edinburgh International Festival, Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, Nederlandse Reisopera, Theater Chemnitz, and Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik.

 

He has also performed with a wide range of orchestras, such as the NDR Radiophilharmonie, Arctic Philharmonic,   B´rock Orchestra, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil, Bergen Philharmonic, and the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra.

 

In the  2025/26 season Petter will sing the role of Toke in Poul Ruders’ The Thirteenth Child with the Odense Symphony Orchestra, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with the Arctic Philharmonic,  Don Ottavio in a new production of Don Giovanni at the Danish National Opera, and a Schubert lieder program with the Odense Symphony Orchestra.

Recent performances include Mozart’s Requiem with Jönköping Sinfonietta, Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings with Musica Vitae, Augustin Moser in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, and the Father in Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins with the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra.
